Skyrim Factions and Guilds guide. By Matt Hughes 2019-05-01T13:52:17Z Guide. You can join up by visiting the headquarters in Solitude, found in the northwest corner of Skyrim. In the world of Skyrim, most inhabitants are warriors, thieves or archers. Mages are few and far between. That's why being a mage in this land can be a real challenge, though, done right, it is an incredibly rewarding and fun way to play the game. Of course, whether you're a battle-mage, a healer, or a pure mage.

Question, Spoiler, Lore and Mod -.Official Links:.Stickies:.Alternative Themes:.Related Communities:. The Companions. Probably the worst done in terms of time and attention from developers but still my favourite because they actually care about each other. They are the faction with the greatest reason for internal dispute, yet they have the least of it.
Disagreements on religion and where a groups future lies can tear apart incredibly strong bonds, but the Companions stick together. The Thieves Guild get's torn apart over money, the Brotherhood over Astrid's pride and insecurities, the College constantly fuck's over it's members (The Archmage enthralling and abandoning his fellow students in the visions you get, shoddy leadership resulting in people constantly leaving and becoming hostile to the College, the threat coming from someone who has been allowed into the college). But the Companions?
Kodlak, Vilkas and Farkas want to turn away from everything Aela and Skjor want to pursue. But it never becomes a problem. When Vilkas wants to posthumously cure Kodlak Aela only hesitates for a few seconds before realizing that how she feels about Lycanthropy and Hircine is irrelevant, that it is about honouring Kodlak. And then she fights longer and harder then Vilkas or Farkas to make it happen. Because she genuinely loved him, as all members of the circle genuinely love each other. You are right about attention to detail.
I joined the companions a few days ago. It just felt so.off.' I am The Last Dragonborn. I have slain Alduin, the World-Eater, The Vampire Lord Harkon, and the First Dragonborn, Miraak. I am the Leader of the Thieves Guild, Listener of the Night Mother, Thane of the 9 Holds of Skyrim, Agent of Nocturnal, Imperial Legate, and Slayer of Nazeem'.'
You can't truly be considering letting her join us? I've never even heard of this Outsider!' Come on, Bethesda. The Enthralled Wizards are when you are fetching the Staff of Magnus from Labyrinthian. With people constantly leaving and becoming hostile to the college i am referring to Orthorn and the Callers group as well as Nelecar and Malen Varen's group ( ) and Falion There are more people who have left the college in disgust or been kicked out for blatant insanity then are still in it. Not to mention the absurdly high apprentice mortality rate.Savos Aren is a terrible, terrible arch-mage.
Dark Brotherhood all the way for me. I play as an invisible backstabbing assassin and I thought the storyline was amazing. Play to not just complete the missions but to execute the kills to perfection and being rewarded for it felt right.Second for me is the Thieves Guild. I used Light armor and between the Nightengale and Guildmaster set it was fun.
I thought this was an awesome storyline too. Hunting down the betrayer and dueling him as water rushes into the room was great. Also all of the little trinkets you pick up on the quests adorning your desk in the Cistern is badass IMO. Theon at the end of the day wanted to be a Stark. They were for most of his life the only family he really had, yet for all Ned being an accepting guy it is kind of hard to feel accepted knowing that your Guardian / Foster Father would kill you the second your father rebelled. His real father was an even greater ass, not even considering human in all honesty by the time they reunite. Theon was forced into a hopeless position; if he said no to his father he'd be killed, if he joined him he'd lose his best friend.
Where Jon sided with duty over family, Theon chose (blood) family.Theon made several bad decisions, but has paid for them more than 10-fold. In his current situation (Spoilers pre-release chapters for book 6) he's about to be burnt alive for a crime he didn't actually commit. Before that he was tortured for about a year and a half by the most sadistic person in the books, which given the existence of Aerys II, and some of that man's ancestors, is really saying something. But to your comment about the farmer's kids, there is a sadder truth to it. In the books it is implied somewhere that actually they were his bastards, and that in the end he realised that he'd rather slay his own two sons than betray his foster brothers.Theon made terrible mistakes, but he made human mistakes. Like all of GRRM's characters he is flawed and so very human.

I can think of one character alive for the books (ie alive in Book 1) that had no redeeming characteristics, if we go into the lore there might be at most 3 or 4. A Song of Ice and Fire is a story about humans, and closing your mind to any human makes you less human, not them.
